Marikina City, October 16 2006 — The L-MDGs project assisted Galing Pook Foundation in organizing the conferment of citation to 10 LGUs on local capacity innovations in localizing the MDGs. This citation was supported by UNDP-Capacity 2015 and was implemented by Galing Pook.
Among the 10 LGUs, 4 are UN-Habitat L-MDG sites: Naga City, Science City of Munoz, Pasay City and Zamboanga City. The project supported the publication of Local Capacity Innovations for the MDG and the conferment ceremonies on October 16, 2006 with the Vice President of the Philippines.
Marikina City, a Galing Pook Hall of Famer hosted the ceremonies. To maximize dissemination and advocacy for local innovations, UN-Habitat produced the 2007 Calendar using the LOCI awardees.
