Rebuilding Marawi Shelter and Livelihood
The manual details UN-Habitat’s capacity-building support as part of its contribution in the rebuilding of war-torn Islamic City of Marawi. It covers Livelihood, Peace and Development, Environment and Social Safeguards, and Community Mobilization, spread across the five stages of the People’s Process.
For the Marawi Sultanate League, the 1000 houses awarded to internally displaced families are more than just structures of shelter. They are symbols of a new beginning.
Another 250 families displaced by the 2017 Marawi Siege were awarded with permanent house and lot from the National Housing Authority (NHA) and the Rebuilding Marawi Project of UN-Habitat Philippines.
