Rebuilding Marawi Vol 6: Building Homes

Building Homes: Guide to Community-driven Core Shelter Construction draws from UN-Habitat’s solid experience of building 1,000 permanent houses for internally displaced families in Marawi City. This manual focuses on the People’s Process approach to core shelter construction. Intended for non-technical/laypeople, this guides readers on the following construction areas:

  • understanding plans and drawings;
  • planning and procuring materials;
  • managing overall construction; and,
  • using a step-by-step guide in building a core house.

Building Homes is the sixth of the six-volume publication developed from UN-Habitat Philippines’ comprehensive knowledge and experience in implementing the Rebuilding Marawi through Community-driven Shelter and Livelihood.
