Message of Support on the 10th Anniversary of Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro

UN-Habitat Philippines stands in solidarity with the Philippine government on the 10th anniversary of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro, reaffirming our sustained commitment to contribute in ensuring lasting peace, security and development in BARMM. I personally witnessed the signing of the CAB in Malacañang 10 years ago and since then significant strides have been made. We will build on the development gains as we continue this journey together with government and other stakeholders.

Through our work in post-conflict Marawi on rebuilding homes and providing livelihood opportunities, we have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of community empowerment and resilience. We will continue to support the BARMM region characterized by inclusivity, economic growth, resilience, and sustainability as we are doing through the Bangsamoro Spatial Development Framework, a development blueprint formulated with and for the Bangsamoro people, with the transformative potential of making a positive impact in communities and people’s lives.

We commit to support collective efforts to foster peace and development in the Bangsamoro region where no one and no place is left behind.

Localizing Marine Litter Actions: An experience-based guide for city or municipal-level localization of the Philippines National Plan of Action on Marine Litter

Aligned with the planning process of local government units (LGUs), it captures the process of developing the City Plan of Action on Marine Litter (CPOA-ML) from creating the planning team, situational analysis and baselining, visioning, capacity development, action identification, until approval and adoption. It provides recommendations for enhancements of existing local policies and mainstreaming into other local plans.

People’s Process in Community-based Plastics Circularity Social Enterprise Development

Developed under the Healthy Oceans and Clean Cities Initiative, this paper looks at how the People’s Process became a significant driver for community-based plastics circularity social enterprise development. It has specifically looked at organizations in HOCCI’s partner cities of Manila, Calapan, Davao, Legazpi, Cagayan de Oro, and Ormoc.
